Black Friday is Coming

OMG Black Friday is one week from today. The unofficial start of holiday shopping is the day after Thanksgiving (Friday) although that keeps moving earlier. I even heard someone talk about Black Wednesday. Personally I avoid shopping in stores on Black Friday except for a giant Cookie Sale held to benefit local charities. I have participates in this event for quite a few years since I stopped getting up in the dark to head to stores.

Most stores offer Door-buster Sales with some kind of early bird special to attract consumers to their stores. People stand in line hours before stores open, to grab the big deal of the year but I suggest getting there 20-30 minutes after the store opens. You may miss the deal but most times not and you DO miss the craziness.

Here are just some of the best sites to check when planning your shopping. Many offer email alerts too. Most big box stores (Best Buy, Target, CVS) have ads leaked way before Thanksgiving. Don't forget these online gift sites as well
