Fun on the Web Jan.15 2017 Me,Myself and I
Well, I have been in a funk. I had quite a month of December. My surgery was scheduled for the 14th but I was already seeing my walls close in by Thanksgiving since the idea of taking no aspirin or ibuprofen for two weeks before surgery meant narcotics during the day. That translates into no driving for me until I can do no narcotics after surgery. I'm still there with no driving.
The surgery went perfectly but I am not perfect yet. I have substantial pain in my left shoulder. The neurosurgeon says it's because the nerve was affected for so long. I hope he is right but it is painful to reach for anything now. Lifting things is another trigger for pain. I am allowed only 5 pounds with either hand to lift, pull, push, or carry. Even that much is iffy for me.
Thankfully I have better-coping systems than 6 months ago. I track each drug I take so I keep my kidneys safe and don't overdose. I take small batches of laundry down. I let the other people carry my groceries. I beg and borrow rides and failing that Uber and Lyft get me where I want to go.
Next week I start physical therapy again, In between, I have to get an Uber to get my nails done because my hands still shake too much to try it at home. Sigh! Life is so complicated now. I often feel closed in these days so I am going to go by Uber to places near home.
