Fun on the Web April 27 2015 Falling

Well dear readers, I fell last week. It turns out I still do bounce pretty well but it has slowed me down some. I actually did a back somesault off the back step so I didn't break anything (even skin). I know it could have been worse but I hate feeling old and creeky. I am so greatful it was cold. I had on a winter coat and heavy jeans that help protect me.

Anyway, I am still in the midst of my classes. I have a little more than a week to complete "Intro to CSS Style Sheets and HTML5" and take the final exam. I started my "Excel 2013" a couple of weeks ago. I cann't say that one has been difficult yet, just time consuming.

Work is still going well but I am still trying to get into the black for good. The latest has been catching up on old debt for my storage and a car repair. It's going to take another month or two at this pay rate to be solidly in the black.

Fun on the Web April 22 2015 Earth Day

Since 1969 we have had Earth Day. I remember being a part of Earth Action which was an environmental group promoting recycling way back when. Of course I was a child (*giggles) then, as I am now (some days.)

Wisconsin was an environmental leader then as we have always been a progressive people until the recent dark days. I swear the current batch of right wing loonies are ruining our state. They are selling out as much as they can to the highest bidder. My thoughts go out more and more to where I should move in the future or do I just need to get involved in politics further than voting and voicing an opinion. Stay and fight the good fight.

Fun on the Web April 21 2015 Meetup

Recently I had a skin cancer removed from my arm and yesterday was my checkup. It's healing well according to the doctor but I am afraid it will cause a scar so I am crocheting a shawl for this summer. I do enjoy crocheting so much. As a matter of fact I have joined a crafting group and tonight we have our monthly "Knit and Crochet Evening" where food is a potluck and the conversation flows freely. Is this the modern day version of a quilting circle?

Fun on the Web April 18 2015 Scrabble as a Process

I don't think it's a secret that I love to play Scrabble. I love all word games and puzzles like anagrams, crossword puzzles, Words with Friends, Boggle, Upwords, Jumbles, Cryptograms, and Word Search. Some of those more than others but Scrabble is a game I have played for years with varying degrees of intensity and with various levels of competition. My family will not play with me any more.

Fun on the Web April 17 2015 Listen

My how music has changed. There was a time you cranked up the gramaphone and played records that were fragile. Then along came vinyl 45's and LP's, after that was the 8 track and then cassettes. I still like them although my CD collection far outweighs the cassettes these days.

Don't get me wrong, I am not against MP3's, WMA, WAV's, or OGG's but I am just not dumping all the music I already own for the next thing that comes along.

I first became aware of Christo when he installed The Gates project in NYC Central Park. You remember there was controversy from the late 80's until the installation in February 2005.
