Do you need a "Go Bag"

With fire and craziness all around do you need a "Go Bag"? Will the need to evacuate be in your future. If so what should be in it? I just looked at a video of Rachel Ray's house that burned to the ground due to a chimney fire. They got out with the clothes on their backs and the dog.
