So I belong to a craft group that is pretty freewheeling and every month we have a "Knit and Crochet Night' but everyone is free to do any craft that is portable. Last night we had someone that was doing Zentangles. Zentangle... an easy to learn and relaxing method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns.
